The diplomatic beard:
‘George Killingworth, a political agent of Queen Elizabeth, was sent upon a mission to the court of Ivan the Terrible. (Grandson of Ivan the Great)
Killingworth had a grand beard, measuring five feet, two inches in length. It was a glorious shade of yellow, quite broad and thick. Ivan was delighted by it and could not resist playing with it after luncheon. Others were allowed to touch it, too.’
Bizar is Basque for beard and seems to have acquired its current meaning as a result of swashbuckling, bearded Spanish sailors having made a powerful impression on the mostly clean-shaven French, for whom the word came to mean “to stand out in a crowd”.
The new year is the perfect time to stop shaving and grow a beard:
The Audacious Beard Co’s Christmas competition:
Here at Audacious Head Quarters we have decided that the month of December needs an Audacious prize competition to celebrate the season – so rather than the usual two competitions we are focussing on one special festive prize = the winner will receive one of our Beard Oils & Beard Balm gift sets – which contains all three beard oils, and the beard balm.
To enter= message us a photo of you holding an Audacious Beard Co product, showing off your awesome beard / moustache BUT make sure there is something festive in the photo… maybe a decoration, Christmas tree, what about Santa Claus? The most imaginative and Audacious photo will receive the gift set in time for Christmas!
